Head of Procurement and Service Management

Main Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Public Sector Resourcing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing functional and team leadership to the creation, development, management, and operation of a high-performing Service Centre function.

The ideal candidate will design, establish, and manage a tactical buying organization and processes required to assure effective buying support, including helpdesk, order administration, order expediting, procurement data management, and continuous improvement projects.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing tactical sourcing activities in alignment with the Category Management team.
  • Designing, establishing, and managing the supplier registration and onboarding process, ensuring suppliers are onboarded in a controlled but timely manner.
  • Working with the Performance and Process team to develop and implement a performance management framework, incorporating high-level objectives, metrics, targets, regular reporting, management review, and action plans that steer the team.
  • Collaborating with the Performance and Process team to define, establish, and implement key performance indicators, service, and operation level agreements (KPI, SLA & OLA) that ensure services are delivered to required standards, expectations, and commitments.
  • Developing and running a workload prioritization and resource allocation process covering all of the team's activities.
Essential Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Previous Service Centre Procurement experience.
  • Global procurement knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen, with advanced experience and knowledge of the concept to pay process and provision of operational procurement support.
  • A consistent track record of delivery in operational procurement activity, including helpdesk, requisition and order processing, tactical sourcing, and data management and administration within large and complex Procurement organizations.
  • Experience of working in a complex changing environment with demanding business objectives in a competitive market sector.
  • Experience of designing, establishing, and managing shared service operations for Procurement.
  • Experience of creating, building, leading, and managing successful teams.
  • Significant experience of ERP systems such as Oracle.
