Health and Safety Professional

AndersElite is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team in Cumbria. This is a 6-month contract, inside IR35, with a negotiable rate. The successful candidate will be working on a heavy civil engineering and construction project.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical expertise on Health, Safety and Environmental matters, managing a team of 3 SHE professionals.
- Implement and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
- Supervise subcontractor safety practices.
- Lead safety programmes and initiatives.
- Conduct site audits and report on HSE incidents.
- Develop and deliver HSE training.
- Liaise with international and local workers on HSE issues.
- Maintain audit registers and produce monthly safety reports.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ L6 in OHAS.
- Previous experience in construction-related activities, including CDM, ideally heavy civil engineering.
- Significant expertise to serve as a subject matter expert in one or more key areas of health, safety or environment.
- Strong interpersonal, IT and research skills.
