We are seeking a highly skilled Academic SEN Tutor to join our team at Targeted Provision in West Midlands. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational support to young people with Special Education Needs (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.

With a passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners, you will be working with children and young people who require tailored support to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging sessions that cater to the individual needs of each student, promoting their social-emotional growth, and drastically improving their educational outlook.

About the Role
  • You will provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs.
  • These young people are referred to us by local authorities and schools and will require some level of support in their educational and social-emotional journey.
  • You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging sessions that cater to the individual needs of each student, promoting their social-emotional growth, and drastically improving their educational outlook.
Requirements
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS).
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience.
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other Additional Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Two professional references.
  • You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online assignments.
