Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Battle Watch Director. This position is responsible for leading the Battle Watch Team, providing 24/7 support to Royal Navy warships, and ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Battle Watch Team, comprising of MOD Civil Servants and Royal Navy Personnel, to deliver high-quality technical support to Royal Navy warships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve mission output and ensure the effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Defence and other government departments to achieve common goals.
  • Oversee the management and implementation of new tools, applications, and tradecraft into the Battle Watch Team.
  • Request for information manager and provide daily continuity between the Battle Watch Team and FIOC UK operations team.
Requirements
  • Previous managerial experience and good interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • A willingness to learn new tools and techniques, driven by an appetite to seek ways to incrementally improve mission output.
  • Previous experience in the electromagnetic activities/electronic warfare field is advantageous.
  • Daily management and interaction with Royal Navy personnel, where prior military experience would be beneficial but not essential.
