About the Role

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in a rotational development role. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work across two clinical areas, gaining valuable experience and skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine occupational therapy interventions to maintain, restore, or create a match between the abilities of individuals, the demands of their occupations, and the demands of their environment.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to identify their occupational therapy goals and develop individualized plans to promote their occupational performance.
  • Deliver interventions in a variety of settings, including inpatient and community mental health teams, to promote social inclusion and participation in daily life activities.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of interventions and ensure that therapy is effective and acceptable to the individual client and their carers/families.

Person Specification

  • Diploma/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Ongoing registration with the Health Professionals Council
  • Some knowledge of current best practice in OT
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, health, safety, and risk awareness
