Job Summary

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in a rotational development role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across two clinical areas, gaining experience and skills in a variety of settings.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy interventions to support individuals with mental health needs. The role will involve working across two clinical areas, with a 12-month rotation in each service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine occupational therapy interventions to maintain, restore, or create a match between the individual's abilities and the demands of their occupations.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to identify their occupational therapy goals and develop individualized plans to promote their occupational performance.
  • Seek opportunities to deliver interventions in the most socially and culturally appropriate venues, promoting the individual's participation in everyday community activities.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of interventions and ensure therapy is effective and acceptable to the individual client and their carers/families.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy, ongoing registration with the Health Professionals Council, and some knowledge of current best practice in OT. They will also have experience in applying the OT process, using functional assessment and analysis of occupation, and working in a mental health setting.

The successful candidate will be able to work single-handedly with individuals and groups, have effective written and oral communication skills, and be able to reflect and critically appraise their own performance.
