About the Role

Snap Inc. is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Snap Lab team in Oxfordshire. As a member of our research and development team, you will play a crucial role in developing new tools and processes that enable next-generation nanophotonics and related systems for our world-leading augmented reality displays.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop in-house early-stage processes for fabricating augmented reality waveguides
  2. Contribute to new and existing automation processes
  3. Collaborate with internal and external teams across various disciplines and global locations
  4. Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to identify and source new components and systems
  5. Assist in transferring and disseminating process knowledge within the company
Requirements
  1. Demonstrable record of hands-on process development with good attention to detail
  2. Experience in building tools to develop processes to proof-of-concept level
  3. Experience in high-volume production, such as FMCG, consumer electronics, or medical devices
  4. Experience in specifying and commissioning third-party automation equipment
  5. Experience in mechanical design, mechatronics, and industrial automation
  6. Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and team structures
  7. Ability to work independently or closely with colleagues as required
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in optics or semiconductor manufacturing
  2. Experience in various industrial assembly or manufacturing processes
  3. Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks or NX) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Matlab)
