About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Group Conference Coordinator to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Family Group Conference Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating meetings and empowering family members to make informed decisions about their children's care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange and organize Family Group Conferences to bring family members and professionals together to discuss care plans for children.
  • Empower family members to make informed decisions about their children's care, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
  • Work closely with referrers and other professionals to prepare FGC agendas and questions, and facilitate the conference.
  • Ensure the participation of children and young people in the FGC process, promoting their involvement and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with family members, professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • FGC accreditation is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience in arranging and completing Family Group Conferences is required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills for assessing and reviewing foster carers and children's needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with family members, professionals, and other stakeholders.
