About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Group Conference Coordinator to join our team at Achieving for Children. As a Family Group Conference Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating meetings between family members and professionals to develop safe and sustainable solutions for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange and organize Family Group Conferences, ensuring that all parties are engaged and empowered to make decisions.
  • Assist referrers and professionals in preparing FGC agendas and questions.
  • Facilitate the participation of children and young people in the FGC process.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with family members, professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support and guidance to family members and professionals throughout the FGC process.
Requirements
  • FGC accreditation is essential.
  • Previous experience of arranging and completing Family Group Conferences is required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations, and National Minimum Standards.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills for assessing and reviewing foster carers and children's needs.
  • Ability to explain professional reasoning and decision-making in a constructive and supportive manner.
  • Experience in using ICT, Liquid Logic, PARIS case record management systems, and other relevant software.
