About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment and care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be operationally accountable to the Lead Nurse in mental health and will work collaboratively with the Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to provide high-quality care and treatment to patients. They will be responsible for:
• Conducting comprehensive mental state examinations, including risk assessment and risk management plans
• Developing and implementing evidence-based psychological and psychiatric interventions
• Providing mental health care appropriate to the client's physical health needs and making appropriate referrals when necessary
• Maintaining accurate records of referrals and patient contact activity
Requirements
Applicants should have a BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in mental health nursing, with extensive post-registration experience at Senior Staff Nurse level and previous experience of providing mental health care in physical healthcare settings. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
