Job Description

Müller UK & Ireland is a leading dairy company with a strong presence in Europe. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Driver Trainer to join our team at our Market Drayton Depot.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Driver Development: Support the development of our drivers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • DCPC Delivery: Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) regulations.
  • Fuel Efficient Driving: Promote and deliver training on fuel-efficient driving practices to reduce our carbon footprint and lower fuel costs.
  • Driver Compliance: Ensure that all drivers are aware of and comply with company procedures and regulations.
  • Post-accident fault rectification: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
  • Measure and target improvement against KPIs: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance driver performance.
Main Accountabilities:
  • Support MMID Health and Safety culture: Promote a culture of safety within the depot and ensure that all drivers are aware of and comply with health and safety procedures.
  • Working with the Lead Driver Trainer: Collaborate with the Lead Driver Trainer to deliver safety roadshows, local driver forums, and national events.
  • Promote and deliver driver development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance driver skills and knowledge, including safe and fuel-efficient driving practices.
  • Support driver CPC periodic training requirements: Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the DCPC regulations and provide training as required.
  • Support internal LGV training opportunities: Identify and provide training opportunities for drivers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Carry out pre-employment driver assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of drivers to ensure they meet the necessary standards for employment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme (DTAS) regulations: Ensure that all drivers are aware of and comply with DTAS regulations.
  • Deliver all aspects of new driver induction training: Develop and deliver training programs for new drivers to ensure they are familiar with company procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and GDPR rules: Ensure that all drivers are aware of and comply with company procedures and GDPR regulations.
  • Support Company SSoW processes: Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure that all drivers are aware of and comply with company procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure drivers are familiar and proficient in operating existing and new equipment: Provide training to drivers on the operation of new equipment and ensure they are familiar with company procedures.
  • Where directed - Train CIP techniques: Provide training to drivers on CIP techniques as required.
  • Ensure that driver vocational licence entitlements are valid: Conduct regular checks to ensure that all drivers have valid vocational licenses.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate data within the Tachomaster analysis compliance system: Ensure that all data is accurate and up to date within the Tachomaster system.
  • Support the Lead Driver Trainer: Collaborate with the Lead Driver Trainer to complete and support EU & RTWTD infringement remedial action.
  • Complete post-accident remedial training: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
  • Communicate effectively with Compliance teams & Transport teams: Collaborate with the Compliance and Transport teams to ensure that best practices are achieved in all areas.
  • Risk assessment of route, delivery and collection locations: Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure that all routes, delivery, and collection locations are safe and compliant with company procedures.
