Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Transport Training Specialist at our Market Drayton Depot.
The main objective of this pivotal role is to enhance all facets of driver training and development. Key responsibilities will encompass:
Driver Development
DCPC Training Delivery
Fuel-Efficient Driving Techniques
Driver Compliance Monitoring
Post-incident Fault Rectification
Performance Measurement against KPIs
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be accountable for the following tasks:
Foster a robust Health and Safety culture within MMID, including local safety initiatives
Collaborate with the Lead Driver Trainer to facilitate safety roadshows, local driver forums, and national events
Promote and execute driver development programs, focusing on Safe & Fuel-Efficient Driving aligned with A to G performance indicators (Connexus)
Assist in fulfilling driver CPC periodic training requirements
Support internal LGV training initiatives
Conduct pre-employment driver assessments for both Permanent and Agency drivers
Possess knowledge of the Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme (DTAS) regulations
Deliver comprehensive new driver induction training and ongoing driver development training, including vehicle and trailer specific familiarization and manual handling techniques
Ensure adherence to site or operational requirements
Guarantee compliance with company protocols and GDPR regulations
Support Company SSoW processes and relevant documentation concerning driver activities
Ensure drivers are well-acquainted and proficient in operating both existing and new equipment
Where applicable
Train on CIP techniques based on site requirements
Verify that driver vocational license entitlements are current as part of the pre-employment process, ensuring all vocational driver licenses are valid
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the Tachomaster analysis compliance system
Assist the Lead Driver Trainer in completing and supporting EU & RTWTD infringement remedial actions
Conduct post-incident remedial training
Effectively communicate with Compliance and Transport teams to ensure best practices are fully implemented across all areas.
Risk assessment of routes, delivery, and collection points. This list is not exhaustive, and the job holder may be required to undertake additional duties.
