Head of Health and Safety Delivery

As a key member of the United Utilities team, you will lead a team of Health and Safety professionals, fostering a culture of excellence in the delivery of H&S performance across the organization's operational and capital project activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and track H&S plans aligned with the UU H&S strategy, escalating concerns as needed.
- Participate in leadership meetings and field visits to support the implementation of H&S policies, procedures, and improvement plans across all business areas.
- Build strong relationships with operations and leadership teams to address H&S challenges, analyse data, and identify improvement opportunities, representing UU in the Water UK H&S Forum.
- Provide H&S advice, coach managers on leadership behaviors, and ensure effective incident investigation and communication of lessons learned.
- Mentor the H&S team, support their development, and contribute to the creation and execution of the UU H&S strategy and framework.
- Qualified to Degree and/or Health and Safety diploma level or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to identify/acquire talent and influence high-performance.
- Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation and a provable track record of delivering sustained H&S performance improvement.
- Demonstrable internal/external stakeholder management skills with experience influencing, coaching and negotiating with senior leadership.
- Hold a current UK/EU driving licence.
