About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Examiner to join our team at Pearson. As a Principal Examiner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our GCSE Portuguese assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely delivery of assessments and maintain high standards of quality assurance.
  • Lead standardisation and moderation activities, ensuring that examiners are trained and equipped to deliver high-quality assessments.
  • Develop and maintain mark schemes, guidance, and other assessment materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that assessments are aligned with the specification and meet the needs of learners.
  • Provide support and guidance to examiners, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on assessment performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Represent Pearson at external meetings and events, promoting our qualifications and services.
Requirements
  • Experience in quality assurance and assessment practice, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE Portuguese specification and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
