Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shift Leader to join our team at Sofra Cambridge. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing cafe service, managing daily operations, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cafe service in the absence of a manager, ensuring that service standards are met and customers receive a high-quality experience.
- Manage daily beverage production, service, and ordering needs, ensuring that inventory is maintained and orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Assist managers in training staff on food, beverage, service, hospitality, and other applicable topics, ensuring that team members are equipped to provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist managers with administrative duties, such as maintaining training materials, updating inventory, and coordinating with other teams.
- Build relationships with regular and interested guests, ensuring that they receive a personalized and memorable experience.
- Ensure that the cafe is clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing at all times, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Respond to guest inquiries and complaints during service, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Meet with Sofra management teams as needed for consultation, coordination, and brainstorming, ensuring that the cafe operates efficiently and effectively.
- Provide leadership, act as a role model of appropriate behavior in the workplace, enforce company policy and procedures, and uphold quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience with leadership and training, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment.
- Barista experience, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and service.
- Ability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays.
- Treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Be genuinely passionate about hospitality and the overall guest experience, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Work in a clean and organized fashion, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Work as a team, taking direction from multiple managers and collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Be able to deal successfully with multitasking and be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
- Exhibit a desire to learn, ask questions, and be curious, with a strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
- Have excellent attendance and punctuality, with a desire for long-term employment.
