Hays Senior Finance is seeking a highly experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The successful candidate will be working for part of a local authority, providing business partnering services to various stakeholders in the children’s social care area.

About the Role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing budgets and capital projects within children’s social care, as well as providing hands-on management, accounting, financial business partnership, and year-end support. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing financial expertise to support business decisions and strategy development
  • Managing budgets and financial planning for children’s social care services
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and governance
  • Developing and maintaining financial systems and processes
  • Supporting the implementation of financial policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably in a public sector or local government setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:
