We are seeking a Clinical Specialist to join our Transformation Unit at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Therapist Rotator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centred care across multiple specialisms, including Neurosciences, Neuro-rehab, Critical Care, Surgery/Vascular, Major Trauma and Acute Medicine.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our integrated teams of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants, where you will develop your skills and expertise in cognitive and functional assessments in both acute and rehab settings.

As a specialist occupational therapist, you will undertake assessments, interventions, goal setting, and discharge planning for patients, ensuring their optimal recovery and rehabilitation.

You will have access to regular supervision, in-service training specific to each area, as well as team meetings to keep up-to-date with important information and service developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly support the delivery of therapy assessment and treatment to patients.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all Core Therapies Service stakeholders.
  • Support service development and planning.
  • Ensure the health, safety and security of users of the Integrated Therapies.
  • Support the Clinical Governance and Quality agenda within Core Therapies.
  • Support equality of opportunity and access within Core Therapies for both staff and patients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Occupational Therapy degree/diploma.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in relevant specialist areas.
  • Postgraduate study relevant to any of the following: Neurorehabilitation, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Vascular, Surgery, Medicine, Critical Care, Major Trauma.
  • Experience with complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £37,338 - £44,962 per annum, pro rata, reflecting the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care.
