We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as Associate Head/Clinical Expert of Speech. This exciting opportunity will allow you to further develop your career in service leadership and make a significant contribution to the development of our Speech and Language Therapy department.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large acute organisation delivering specialist services locally and regionally. As Associate Head/Clinical Expert of Speech, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of the workforce through education and training, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient management, and support operational and workforce management.

This is an ideal time to join our team as we review our services and embark on an improvement journey. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality evidence-based practice, deputising for the Head of SLT, and supporting operational management of the service. Our SLT department has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality person-centred care, with a caseload of complex presentations across dysphagia, communication, and voice.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience in clinical leadership, training, and developing staff
  • Leadership or management training
  • Continuous professional development
  • Project management training
