About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Inspector to join our client's team in Greater Manchester. As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring all products meet the necessary standards and specifications set by regulatory authorities.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements in the aerospace industry, with specific knowledge in mechanical and electronic components compliant with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.

You will be responsible for inspecting mechanical and electronic components, assemblies, and products to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards. This includes performing incoming and final inspection activities on products returned by customers as part of the Customer Logistics Support function.

In addition, you will conduct inspections to ensure compliance with defined requirements, evaluate and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards, and identify deviations from design specifications.

As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with the Engineering team to rectify any issues and maintain clear and consistent communication with the Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect mechanical and electronic components, assemblies, and products to ensure compliance with specified standards and regulations
  • Perform incoming and final inspection activities on products returned by customers
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with defined requirements
  • Evaluate and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Identify deviations from design specifications and collaborate with the Engineering team
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Operations Team

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Quality role within the Aerospace industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AS9100 standards and quality management systems
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Strong understanding of AS9102 and First Article Inspection Reports
  • Ability to review suppliers' FAIRs to ensure compliance to AS9102
  • Strong inspection skills for both mechanical and electronic components
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment such as FARO Arm, Height Gauge, Micrometers etc.
