We are seeking a skilled MHE Training Operations Specialist to join our team at Great Bear. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a challenging role where you will be responsible for delivering training to MHE operators, ensuring safe working practices, and continually reducing accidents/incidents.

About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive training to MHE operators to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Lead the site's Health & Safety culture, prioritizing safety above all else.
  • Train MHE staff on the effective use of the Fleet Management System (FMS).
  • Support site inductions for FTE/Agency staff, focusing on MHE and Manual Handling.
  • Collaborate with the nominated person(s) to complete Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Working Practices (SWP).
  • Develop and deliver technical skills training to support operations, utilizing various delivery methods.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy.
  • Maintain a site skills matrix, ensuring MHE operators' skill levels are satisfactory and refresher training is completed within specified timeframes.
  • Actively manage MHE operator numbers to minimize skill fade and risk from inexperienced/inrequent users.
  • Evaluate and improve training programs to ensure ongoing competence among MHE operators.
  • Assist in incident investigations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement proactive measures to reduce MHE-related risks.
  • Contribute to the creation of Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments for MHE activities.
  • Ensure hazards are correctly identified and control measures implemented to eliminate or reduce risks.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of [£40,000 - £55,000] per annum salary, depending on experience.
  • Prior experience in MHE training and operations is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
