**Job Title:** Autism Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Learning Support Assistant in a specialist school for students with Autism, Severe and complex needs.

**About the Role:**

  1. This is a full-time opportunity to work 5 days a week within the school or college provision, covering PPA across a range of classes, supporting students with SLD, PMLD, Autism to help improve engagement, interaction and raise attainment.
  2. You will work closely with parents to ensure what is carried out at school is continued at home.
  3. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with individual children is essential.
  4. The school will play to your strengths regarding subjects/specialisms.
  5. If you are a graduate and would be interested in future teaching, the school is open to progressing you through their teacher training programme.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Autism, Severe and complex needs in a classroom setting
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting to teachers and parents

**Requirements:

  • Graduate status (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Patient and understanding approach to support students with special needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working with children and young people

**Salary and Benefits:**

  • Competitive salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity
