About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Caretaker to join our Facilities Management Team at Derby College. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our campus facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of campus facilities, including classrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and repairing equipment and fixtures
  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including arranging furniture and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Facilities Management Team to achieve shared goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a facilities or maintenance role is desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials
  • Availability to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
