About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Scientist in Virology to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Virology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical services and contributing to the development of our virology provision.
Main Responsibilities
As a Consultant Clinical Scientist, you will be responsible for participating in the delivery of the Virology Clinical service, including virology authorisation, fielding of clinical enquiries, and advising on clinical management. You will also be involved in cross-site management responsibilities, laboratory liaison, and training/teaching of medical and clinical scientist trainees on diagnostics.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in clinical virology, including diagnostic virology, viral genomics, and antiviral resistance. You will also need to have experience in leading and managing a virology laboratory, including staff management, quality assurance, and financial management. Additionally, you will need to have experience in research and development within virology, including publication of peer-reviewed research.
