About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Oncology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with cancer and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a specified caseload of patients, providing information and support to enable patients to make informed choices about their care and understand the rationale of investigations and treatments.
  • Work closely with Consultants, medical and nursing staff, multi-disciplinary teams, and Heads of Department within the Directorate to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Ensure patients are seen within recommended time scales and targets where these are in place.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care packages for a specialist group of patients.
  • Provide and promote a high standard of professional care at all times, upholding and influencing professional and Trust values.
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare service by acting as a role model to others and demonstrating NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to the speciality.
  • Significant post-registration experience, including some in a position relevant to the speciality.
  • Able to perform clinical skills relevant to the speciality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work without supervision and on own initiative.
  • Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values.
