
Learning Support Assistant in a SEMH School

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEMH school, supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and creativity in adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support and guidance to pupils with complex needs
- Assist classroom teachers in creating engaging lesson plans and delivering instruction
- Support pupils' emotional well-being through regular check-ins, activities, and resources
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to improve pupil outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report back to parents and carers as required
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in SEND
Requirements:
- A minimum of six months' experience working with children with SEND in the UK
- An active DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Availability for full-time work during term time only
- A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people with complex needs
Salary Estimate: £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on experience and location
