Learning Support Assistant

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs School in the UK. As a key member of the education support staff, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualized support to pupils aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support and supervision to pupils, fostering their engagement in the learning process and working towards specific aims and objectives.
- Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to pupils' needs, ensuring they receive personalized support.
- Support vulnerable young people, enhancing their emotional well-being, raising their aspirations, and assisting them in achieving their full potential.
- Assist classroom teachers in managing pupil behaviour, delivering lessons, and creating a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other professionals as required.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 6 months of experience working with SEN children in the UK. You must also have an active DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one. Availability for full-time work during term time only is essential.
