Job Title: Building Control Technician

Job Summary:

Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Building Control Technician to join our team. As a Building Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building control legislation, assisting with the implementation of marketing and service delivery initiatives, and managing caseloads to meet objectives within timescales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise an area of the borough to ensure compliance with building control legislation, including the Building Act and regulations.
  • Assist with the supervision of an area within the borough to ensure compliance with building control legislation.
  • Draw applicants' attention to other statutory requirements affecting their proposals.
  • Liaise with and report matters relating to the activities of other sections, as required.
  • Assist with the assessment and recovery of fees and charges.
  • Protect the Council's interests in all aspects of financial transactions.
  • Assist with promoting Camden's Building Control service during normal contracts with building professionals.
  • Respond to enquiries on building control matters from the public, Councillors, MPs, and others with a legitimate interest.
  • Keep records, including time monitoring, travel records, and other associated administrative and casework details.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in construction/surveying or related faculty, leading to corporate membership of RICS or equivalent.
  • CSCS card.
  • Basic knowledge of building construction, structural engineering, fire safety in buildings, and supervision of building work on site.
  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of main legislation to prepare reports and schedules.

Contract Details:

Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend. PAYE via Umbrella. Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm.
