Job Overview: A leading company in the industry is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, with experience in designing complex electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Produce high-quality manufacturing drawings and designs for current module projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Process engineering change requests and design updates as instructed by the design authority or engineering change order.
  3. Develop and maintain general assembly drawings and models, utilizing company standard drawing templates and BS8888 standards.
  4. Conduct tolerance stack up analysis to validate critical dimensions and ensure adequate control of manufactured parts.
  5. Generate detailed product concept models and simplified component models for simulation and analysis.
  6. Manage general assembly updates and models inherited from subcontractor design activities.
  7. Collaborate with the operations team to select suitable vendors for manufacture of enclosures.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 10+ years of experience leading mechanical design of Aerospace hardware and/or complex electro-mechanical systems.
  2. Strong knowledge of various modeling techniques, including surface modeling.
  3. Experience in designing for a range of manufacturing processes and environmental test methods.
  4. Competent in engineering drawings using GD&T and knowledge of BS8888 standards.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex design concepts to stakeholders.
