Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of New Business. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the firm's growth strategy, working closely with the Business Development & Marketing team and partners to achieve our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a client target pipeline, working closely with partners across our Key Pillars and Core Sectors.
  • Feed newly acquired clients into the client team and prioritise onboarding solutions to ensure seamless operational efficiency and excellent client experience.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Shoosmiths EIGHT, IS, risk & ethics to ensure seamless operational efficiency and excellent client experience.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and success of pursuits initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on pursuit status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and raise Shoosmiths profile in the market.
  • Work closely with the Director with strategic pursuit planning for the business.
  • Work closely across the divisions to understand how best to promote them in the market.
  • Be highly visible in the market, especially in our Key Pillars and Core Sectors and attend new prospect meetings.
  • Generate leads and introduce partners to new clients.
  • Closing new business.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in managing their client network, making introductions, targeting new prospects, and generating new business. They will understand the professional services landscape and have a proven track record in doing so.

Risk and Commercial awareness are vital to the role and the ideal candidate should feel comfortable managing stakeholders. The right candidate is likely to be dynamic and comfortable with a wide range of responsibilities. They will have a willingness to tackle any situation with a can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial outlook and interest in innovation is key.

Any experience within connected services and holistic solutions would be advantageous.
