About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Expert in Teaching and Assessing Engineering and Welding Skills to join our team as a full-time, permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing students in a designated vocational area, with a focus on engineering and welding.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and welding, with experience in delivering high-quality training and assessments. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, employers, and other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assess students in a designated vocational area, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
  • Develop and implement training materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans to ensure that students receive a comprehensive education.
  • Monitor student progress, identifying areas of improvement and developing strategies to address any gaps in knowledge or skills.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that training and assessments are delivered consistently across the college.
  • Work closely with employers to ensure that students receive relevant and up-to-date training that meets their needs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in engineering and welding.
  • Strong teaching and assessment skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality training to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Experience of working in a vocational education setting, preferably in a similar role.
