About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our team at Elevation Recruitment Group. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to drive profitability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies that align with business goals and objectives
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings through effective procurement practices
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams to drive category performance and optimize product offerings
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure product availability to meet demand and customer needs
  • Lead new product development and range reviews within your category to stay ahead of the competition
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize category performance, improve margins, and drive business growth
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar commercial role within the building materials industry
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends
  • Experience managing product ranges and developing category strategies
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of pricing, margins, and profitability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
