Engineering Manager Job Description

At IPS LLP, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at York. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Electrical Engineers who have a strong background in maintenance and project work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are compliant with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures, engineering standards, and specifications as required.
  • Review engineering competency and ensure that appropriate training and development plans are set and implemented to meet both individual and business needs.
  • Drive the development and utilisation of the company's CMMS and validate its data integrity to cause and effect analysis level.
  • Own the OEE loss reduction programme for the engineering-related categories, using appropriate tools, techniques, and resources.
  • Participate in capital projects, ensuring that relevant PM plans and engineering standards are embedded into the engineering ways of working for new plant and machinery.
  • Responsible for own and team development, and to carry out objective setting, performance appraisals, and development planning, moving towards a self-management culture.
  • Mentor the sites' production managers on engineering-related issues to validate interventions and decision-making capability on technical issues.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge in Continuous Improvement would be beneficial to help you thrive in this position.
  • Experience of working successfully within a FMCG Manufacturing environment.
  • IOSH NVQ Level 3 Management (Desirable).
  • At least five years of experience of engineering (projects and maintenance) within a food production environment.
