Supporting Student Success through BSL

Connex Education is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 BSL qualification to support the educational journey of a student in need. This is a long-term assignment that requires a dedicated individual who can build a rapport with the student and become an asset to their education. As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will work on a one-to-one basis with the student, translating lessons through BSL and providing additional support to help them complete their work.
About the Student
The student requires a teaching assistant who can translate lessons through BSL and provide additional support. They need someone who can quickly build a rapport with them and become an integral part of their educational journey. The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Build a strong rapport with the student
- Translate lessons through BSL to ensure the student's full participation
- Provide additional support to help the student complete their work
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 3 BSL qualification
- A TA qualification or equivalent
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- A driving license (preferable)
