We are excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Youth Employment Development Officer. In this part-time role, you will work closely with local employers to create opportunities for young people supported by our Youth Employment Service.

About the Opportunity:

  • This role requires establishing and maintaining partnerships with local businesses to provide young people with career opportunities.
  • You will negotiate with employers to understand their needs and provide suitable employment options for young people.
  • You will also organise employer-led workshops and career talks to give young people valuable exposure to various career paths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employer Engagement & Networking:
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses to provide young people with career opportunities.
    • Negotiate with employers to understand their needs and provide suitable employment options for young people.
    • Organise employer-led workshops and career talks to give young people valuable exposure to various career paths.
  • Youth Support and Development:
    • Collaborate with our Post 16 projects team to identify young people who would benefit from employer engagement programs.
    • Provide guidance and support to young people in navigating their career options and developing employability skills.
    • Link young people's aspirations with employer skills gaps to create meaningful employment opportunities.
  • Recruitment Strategy Advisory:
    • Assist businesses in developing youth-friendly recruitment strategies.
  • Programme Co-ordination/Administration:
    • Plan and execute events, workshops, and initiatives to promote employer engagement and youth development.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
