About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catering Manager to join our team at Sussex Emmaus. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading our culinary operations and ensuring that our Community Kitchen and Café @ Emmaus provide high-quality, nutritious meals to our Companions, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus that showcase the best of our locally sourced ingredients
- Lead a team of Companions in the preparation and presentation of meals
- Manage food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a clean and healthy environment
- Collaborate with the management team to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency
- Recruit, train, and develop a team of culinary staff to meet the needs of our business
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit or charitable organization
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with the ability to maintain high standards
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings
