About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Trinity Surgery. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Long Term Condition clinics, including blood pressure checks, urinalysis, and height/weight/BMI measurements.
  • Perform routine tasks and functions, such as ordering supplies, restocking clinical areas, and maintaining infection control procedures.
  • Support practice staff with administrative tasks, including data entry and patient communication.
  • Participate in health promotion activities, such as health checks and screenings.
  • Act as a chaperone during minor operations and procedures.
  • Assist with specific long-term conditions, such as diabetes and asthma, as requested.
  • Monitor fridges daily and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions for improvement.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate enthusiasm for developing nursing skills.
  • An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, and common sense.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priority.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with the public.
  • Experience of computer/SystmOne.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience of dealing with the public/patients.
  • Experience of HCA work.
  • Experience of primary care.
