**Job Overview:** We are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

**Key Responsibilities:*

  1. Assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
  2. Support children with feeding tubes to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
  3. Safely move and handle children using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  4. Aid in the delivery of tailored educational activities and support the teacher in managing the classroom environment.
  5. Facilitate effective communication using various methods, including sign language, communication boards, and other assistive technologies.
  6. Provide emotional and social support to children, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  7. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements and Benefits:

  • Experience working with children with PMLD or transferable experience in a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and a caring nature.
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are desirable but not essential.
