About the Role:



We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our team at Hall & Kay London regional office. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and programming sprinkler systems for various sectors on Main Contract projects.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop comprehensive designs for sprinkler systems through coordination with client representatives and other service contracts
  • Contribute to the design programme by monitoring progress against the construction programme and specification requirements
  • Attend site meetings independently to discuss design matters when necessary
  • Prepare complete working drawings in accordance with appropriate design codes, including hydraulic calculations
  • List off materials for procurement purposes, including estimating variations and scheduling rates
  • Forward drawings and quantities to suppliers and subcontractors for procurement purposes
  • Perform other activities as instructed by the Project Manager or Design Manager


Requirements:




  • Comprehensive experience in a design engineering role within the sprinkler industry (essential)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with LPC BS EN 12845 rules (essential)
  • Experience and proficiency in using Autocad (essential), with Revit 3D experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Full Hydraulic Calculation software, ideally Canute (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Factory Mutual Standards (essential)
  • HND or Degree qualification in a construction/engineering design related topic (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues
  • Show a 'can-do' attitude, applying initiative and working successfully under minimal supervision
