Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Systems Designer to join our team at Protec Fire Detection PLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing fire alarm systems that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual with strong technical skills and experience in fire alarm system design, installation, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of British Standards and a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement fire alarm systems in accordance with British Standard 5839
  • Produce accurate quotations and project proposals that meet client requirements and industry standards
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of fire alarm systems with other building services and architectural features
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full Electrical-based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, or HNC
  • Working knowledge of current British Standards
  • Experience working on large multi-service projects, preferably in a similar role
  • An excellent eye for detail and a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, architects, and other personnel
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer packages, including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam software is a plus
