Support Staff for Young People with Autism

We are seeking a dedicated Support Staff member to join our team at Underley Garden School. As a Support Staff for Young People with Autism, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities.
The role involves working collaboratively with teachers to meet the personal, social, and learning needs of pupils. You will be responsible for supporting pupils in structured learning activities, managing their behavior, and applying effective behavior management techniques in line with school policy.
About the role
The successful candidate will have experience working with children with autism, preferably in a special educational needs setting. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills, patience, and understanding when working with pupils who require additional support.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with teachers to support the learning and progress of pupils
- Managing pupil behavior and applying effective behavior management techniques
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan
