Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ocean Freight Coordinator to join our dedicated Import and Export teams. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for orchestrating the movement of goods across international waters, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure exceptional service and support.
    • Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Freight Coordination
    • Coordinate the movement of freight, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place.
    • Arrange for haulage with shipping lines and hauliers.
    • Ensure freight is invoiced and checked prior to dispatch.
  • Communication
    • Communicate effectively with overseas agents and clients, using clear and concise language.
    • Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Use customer ERP and SAP systems as required.
    • Maintain customer and supplier spreadsheets.
    • Ensure the sales department is aware of client activity and business profitability.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience in freight forwarding.
  • Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong numerical and commercial skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organization skills.
