About the Role

Comms-care is seeking a highly skilled 2nd Line Network Engineer to join our team in Northwich, UK. This office-based position requires three days of work per week and offers a competitive salary package.

Job Description:

This role involves providing exceptional technical support to clients, collaborating with a dynamic team to ensure seamless operations, and resolving complex IT issues. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 2nd line technical support for hardware, software, and network infrastructure-related issues.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex IT problems, escalating to 3rd line support when necessary.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software components.
  • Ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.
  • Communicating regular progress updates to customers.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record as a 2nd Line Support Engineer or similar role in an IT environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and systems.
  • A strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP) and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Experience working in a Support/ Service/ Helpdesk environment.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and hardware.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
