About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced practitioner to join our team as a Level 5 Childcare Lead Practitioner Apprentice. As a key member of our staff team, you will be responsible for the operational running of the nursery, working with children aged 9 months to 2.5 years, and providing high-quality care and education.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operational management of the nursery, including staff deployment, ratio management, and rotas.
- Hands-on practitioner role, including personal care, mealtime assistance, and catering for children's needs.
- Role model and mentor to the staff team, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Safeguarding lead, responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff.
- Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the role, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- Collaboration with the Preschool lead practitioner and business manager to ensure smooth operational management of the business.
- Development of the setting and business, with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting changing demands.
- Planning and delivery of the curriculum and daily activities, in collaboration with the staff team.
- Administration and paperwork, including registers, risk assessments, and staff records.
- Lead practitioner for the holiday club, responsible for organizing fun and engaging activities.
Essential Skills:
- Experienced and knowledgeable in child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years Childcare and Development.
- Safeguarding level 3 or 4 training, or willingness to train.
- GCSEs in Maths or English, or equivalent.
- Previous management or leadership experience.
Working Hours:
Business operational hours are 08:00-16:00, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work around these hours.
