Job Title: Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 5

Job Description:

The Aspire Training Team is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of a Level 5 Childcare Lead Practitioner Apprentice at St Clare's Pre-School.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operational running of the nursery, working with children aged 9 months to 2.5 years.
  • Hands-on practitioner role, including personal care, mealtime assistance, and catering to children's needs.
  • Staff management, deployment, and supervision, ensuring ratios and producing rotas.
  • Safeguarding lead, with experience and a willingness to train.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the role and enjoy a challenge.
  • Driven to build and develop the business with the team.
  • Work alongside the Preschool lead practitioner and business manager to ensure smooth operational management.
  • Develop the setting and business further, always looking to improve and meet changing demands.
  • Plan the curriculum and day-to-day activities with the staff team.
  • Administration and paperwork, including registers, risk assessments, and children and staff records.
  • Lead practitioner for the holiday club, organizing fun activities and outings.
  • Passionate person who can build a team, lead, and support and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to confidently communicate with parents and external agencies.

Essential Skills:

  • Experienced, confident, and knowledgeable in child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years Childcare and Development is essential.
  • Safeguarding Level 3 or 4 training can be provided.
  • GCSEs in Maths or English or Equivalent.
  • Previous management/leadership experience.

Working Hours:

  • Business operational hours are 08:00-16:00 Monday-Friday, with flexibility required.
