We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Experienced Registered Children's Nurses to join our OUTSTANDING Children's Emergency Department in East London.

You will be joining a team that is one of the highest performing Emergency departments in the UK, that achieves consistently good clinical engagement, patient flow and has an OUTSTANDING rating at CQC.

We are looking for Registered Children's Nurses; who have completed their preceptorship program. Experience in A&E is desirable but not essential. Our nurses should be enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated nurses who possess excellent communication skills and enjoy a challenge.

Main Duties of the Job

Main duties include:

  • To document all patient details to the required standard in relation to the admission, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the EPR system where appropriate.
  • To deliver a high standard of holistic nursing care.
  • To communicate with children and their carers, involving them in the planning and delivery of care.
  • To co-ordinate patient discharges, including health promotion education.
  • To identify clinical emergencies as required, ensuring that he/she is up to date with CPR training.
  • To use medical equipment safely and competently and to supervise others in its use.
  • To record and interpret vital signs, taking required action when they demonstrate deterioration

  • NMC Registered. RSCN/RN (Child)

Skills / Abilities

  • Proficient in the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of care of the sick child.
  • Able to make effective decisions in partnership
  • Ability to manage own workload under the supervision of Senior Staff
  • Highly effective communication skills

Experience

  • A variety of clinical experience with children.
  • Experience of working with families under

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the application of evidence based practice
  • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues
