Experienced Staff Nurse in Children's Emergency Department

We are seeking an experienced staff nurse to join our team in the Children's Emergency Department at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient-centred care to adults with acute health needs in the emergency department.
- Be accountable and responsible for providing a high standard of care, working effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
- Carry out care without direct supervision as part of the Emergency Department team.
- Communicate effectively within the team and contribute towards the effective running of the department.
- Provide specialist, high-quality nursing care and support for adult patients and their relatives/carers.
- Delegate duties to other members of staff for effective delivery of patient care.
- Provide timely nurse-led interventions for the benefit of patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of patients from admission.
- Be part of the effective admission/transfer/discharge of a patient involving the family, carers, significant others, multidisciplinary team, and community teams.
- Maintain effective channels of communication with patients, relatives, and all staff involved in providing care.
- Provide and receive nursing handover reports in the role of the team.
- Act as the named nurse to an individual or a group of patients.
- Be part of the process in implementing clinical governance and the impact this has on patient care.
- Ensure that written documentation is maintained in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for Records and Record Keeping and Trust policies.
- Ensure that the storage and administration of medicines is carried out according to statutory and Trust regulations.
- Display knowledge in ED key performance indicators and the impact this has on clinical outcomes.
