Technical Support Engineer Opportunity

Just Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a growing organization based in Ipswich. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for operating systems, ensuring excellent customer service and resolving complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to real-time alerts for hardware, software, and security issues using central monitoring software.
  • Support and maintain the infrastructure of a Microsoft Hyper-V environment, including VMs, SAN solutions, and system applications.
  • Conduct system checks, including hardware, performance, configuration, asset inventory, and database backups.
  • Plan, test, install, and roll out system updates on pre-production and production environments.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system faults, and liaise with software/hardware suppliers to resolve issues.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of IT, Server Support, or IT administration experience providing industry-leading technical support and customer service.
  • Previous experience in offering over-the-phone and remote diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical skills, enquiring, and investigative mind.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft OS (Server & Desktop) including Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy Management.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers (including Hyper-V) and Desktop and storage.

Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of operating systems including Windows and macOS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills.
  • Excellent customer support and service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions is a plus.
