About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to lead our team in building a state-of-the-art Strategic Data Platform at LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions. As a technical lead, you will be responsible for executing our data strategy, developing and implementing advanced solutions for data integration, quality control, and continuous delivery.

Your expertise will be crucial in embedding best practices and state-of-the-art data engineering tools, ensuring that our workflows are both efficient and scalable. You will work closely with our team to architect and lead the development of our patent data ingestion pipeline using Databricks, Python, and PySpark.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures for both batch and streaming data processing.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and PySpark.
  • Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and innovation.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the data ingestion pipeline, identifying and resolving technical challenges as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall data engineering strategy and drive the adoption of best practices in coding, architecture, and deployment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical data engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Python and PySpark is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Databricks would be highly desirable and advantageous.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, including data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data infrastructure management.
