Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to join our team as a Lead Midwife for Patient Experience. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the patient experience across our maternity services, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of care and compassion. This will involve working closely with our Matrons, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance the patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a practicing Band 6 Midwife, with recent intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum experience. They will also have a strong track record of quality improvement and safe care for women and their families, as well as experience in people management and improving the patient experience.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Registered Midwife with minimum 3 years experience as a practicing Band 6
  • Requires NMC registration on relevant part of register
  • Professional knowledge acquired through Midwifery training to Degree Level or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Mentorship course or equivalent teaching experience

Desirable criteria include experience of clinical audit and presentation, RCA Training, and Leadership/Management qualification.
