Financial Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Financial Support Specialist to join our Income Recovery Team in Boston. As a Financial Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting our Income officers in the collection of income by providing a comprehensive support service to customers in the collection of arrears and dealing with customer enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as a member of the Income Team to achieve excellent customer-focused services through prompt and consistent income recovery interventions.
  • Manage a portfolio of cases and support customers in arrears, for example with:
    • Maximising household income
    • Resolving benefit problems
    • Reducing debts to LHP
    • Providing direct money advice and management skills
    • Providing personal budgeting management and skills
    • Setting up basic Bank accounts
    • Setting up appropriate payment methods
  • Maintain clear and concise case records and accurate performance and statistical data.
  • Ensure legal compliance of all LHP policies and procedures in the income recovery process.
  • Establish, maintain and foster positive working relationships with customers, local courts, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Effective partnership working skills, including relationship building, negotiation and influencing.
Desirable:
  • Experience working within a housing or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge or experience of applying income recovery procedures and the application of legislation through legal enforcement processes.
